Cuba bans another top hurdler for "indiscipline"

July 8 - Cuba has banned another world-class hurdler, Orlando Ortega,
who joins former Olympic champion Dayron Robles, in missing next month's
International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World
Championships in Moscow.
The 21-year-old Ortega, sixth in the 110 metres hurdles at last year's
Olympics in London, has been banned by the Cuban Athletics Federation
after what has been described as "serious indiscipline" while he was
competing in Europe.
He would have been a serious contender for a medal in the Russian capital.
Ortega is currently ranked third in the world with a best time of 13.08sec.
But now Ortega, bronze medallist in the 2011 Pan American Games in
Guadalajara, has been suspended for six months and will be confined to
Havana to train, along with his coach Kelvis Antúnez.
Last month Robles, the Beijing 2008 110m hurdles gold medallist and
former world record holder, was banned from representing Cuba after it
was claimed he had "a problem of discipline and sportsmanship".
